Lynch welcomes news of progress on £10 million Lisnaskea Health Centre
Published: 7 December, 2016
Seán Lynch MLA welcomed news that the business case for a new £10 million Health and Care Centre in Lisnaskea is progressing.
Speaking from his constituency office in Lisnaskea, Mr Lynch said:
"I have had ongoing discussions with my party colleague, Health Minister Michelle O'Neill, regarding healthcare provision in Lisnaskea. Indeed, I have invited Michelle to the constituency in the near future and she will be visiting the Health Centre at that time.
"The current building which houses the Lisnaskea Health Centre was in a poor condition ten years ago, and it hasn't improved over time. This is something that I have raised with successive Health Ministers. I am pleased that we now have a Minister who is listening.
"My party colleague has advised me that the business case being developed by the Western Health and Social Care Trust is progressing and that it is expected that it will be submitted to the Department within the coming weeks for approval.
"I am encouraged that, once the case has been approved and the budget allocation for Health for the next year is announced, works can get underway and the new facility will be completed within three years without any break in current services.
"I am further pleased to hear that this new £10 million facility will involve locating both GP and other Trust services on the same site so that a more efficient and inclusive healthcare offering can be accessed locally."- Ends/Críoch
