Lynch welcomes commencement of works on Rural Roads Initiative
Published: 30 September, 2016
Sinn Féin MLA for Fermanagh South Tyrone, Seán Lynch, has welcomed the commencement of works on sixty-five rural roads in Fermanagh as part of the Rural Roads Scheme.
Mr Lynch said:
"Having been in close contact with Transport NI and from being out and about around the constituency, I am pleased to see that many of the works on the sixty-five rural roads are underway or completed.
"I was pleased when my party colleague, Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard, announced an allocation of £4 million additional funding for Rural Roads in the Western Area back in June.
"I also welcome the news that improvement works in Roslea village and at Teemore Cross are due to get underway this autumn.
"In addition to the Rural Roads Initiative, and the improvement works at Roslea and Teemore, the Lisnaskea to Derrylin road at the Share Centre is to have significant works carried out to prevent its' closure during flooding events as seen in recent years.
"These are schemes that I, and my party colleagues, have lobbied for and I welcome the commitment that the Minister is showing to address historic underspend on roads west of the Bann." - Críoch/End
