Open University to host an outreach event in Lisnaskea

Published: 27 November, 2015

Seán Lynch MLA has invited the Open University to host an outreach event in Lisnaskea. The 'Open Near You' event will take place on Tuesday 15th December from 5pm - 7pm at Lisnaskea Library.

Mr Lynch said

'As an Open University graduate, I know that it offers flexible distance learning across the six counties, helping ordinary people achieve extraordinary things. There are a huge variety of courses available and the support offered is second to none.

He continued

'There are grants available as well as different funding options such as 'pay as you go'. There is also financial support available for people on low incomes such as a free introductory access module and support with study-related costs such as travel, childcare and internet access.'

He finished

'I would really encourage everyone to drop in to the event and find out what's different about The Open University. If you have questions about how studying with the OU will work for you, they will be able to answer them there and then. This is a great way for you to develop both personally and professionally without having the upheaval and expense of leaving home. It unlocks learning, particularly for those people who have commitments here at home who might be thinking they are not in a position to undertake a course; with the OU they are.'
