Patient & Client Council Roadshow Visiting Fermanagh
Published: 10 October, 2014
The Patient and Client Council is holding a public roadshow in the Central Hall, South West Regional College, Enniskillen on Thursday 16th October 2014 at 6.30pm to give local people the opportunity to ask the leaders and decision makers about health and social care, including the future of their services locally and regionally.
This is the first of six roadshows that the Patient and Client Council are organising across the north.
Sinn Féin MLA Phil Flanagan has welcomed news that the event is to take place and has encouraged people to attend.
Mr Flanagan said:
"This is a very important event and I would encourage local people to register and to attend to ensure that their voices are heard regarding health and social care in this county.
"The people of Fermanagh are fully entitled to the best health services possible and these roadshows present members of the community with a great opportunity to raise their concerns or highlight examples of good care they have received.
"There are a number of very pressing concerns about the way in which the health service is being run at present, with deep anger at the growing levels of privatisation, lengthening waiting lists and staff being overworked and underpaid and this is a great chance for patients and service users to express their opinion on how they see the health service performing."
The panel for the Enniskillen event is:
Richard Pengelly (Permanent Secretary, Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety)
Dean Sullivan (Director of Commissioning, Health and Social Care Board)
Joe Lusby (Deputy Chief Executive, Western Health and Social Care Trust)
Doctor Ciaran Mullan (Chair, Western Local Commissioning Group.)
The roadshow will be chaired by Louise Skelly (Head of Operations, Patient and Client Council).
Registration and refreshments will be from 6:30pm.
Events will begin at 7:00pm sharp and end at 8:30pm.
Places are limited so RSVP is essential.
